Research is key. Prior to your interview find out as much as you
can about the company, check to see if they have a website (as
this will contain a wealth of useful information), try to establish
what the company does, who their clients are and look out for
any press releases. The client will be impressed if you are aware
of the latest news and plans relating to their business. Think
about your own career and the questions they might ask you. It’s
not always easy to anticipate questions you may be asked but don’t
worry - remember an interview is a two way process - so have a
think about some general questions you may be asked and also prepare
some questions to ask them.
Personality is a key component in an interview environment but
you also need to demonstrate to the interviewer that you are technically
qualified to do the job. It is important to show that you are
motivated to a level that will ensure you get the job done well
and that you are able to fit in with the company's organisational
structure and just as importantly the team in which you will work.
You should always dress smartly for the interview and try to leave
home earlier than you need to as you may be delayed due trains,
traffic etc. From the moment you enter the client offices you
should show how professional you are by being courteous to all
employees within the company.
No interview is the same so just be positive about yourself and
your abilities, try to relax and use the opportunity to learn
us much as you can about the role and company.
